As each of us goes about the daily routine of life, we can find fault in what we do, however it is a harsh fact of life that without some sparkle, some passion, some spirit we cannot produce an effort worthy of the character and self belief we possess. There is a saying that if you do not believe in yourself, no one else will. That belief stemms from an inner strength…the zest, in us all. Zest can be described as enthusiasm, keenness, gusto, relish, appetite, passion and even apathy. The taste, the bite, the tang, the piquancy and even the spice of life, encourages us to do greater things and be better people.
Often we are lethargic in our approach for answers and weary of the answers we find. This is self evident because simply put, you are what you eat and you eat what you are. Age, of course changes the way in which we approach any given objective, crisis, concern or problem, age reflects on our attitude and the opinions we voice. In fact it is said that we mellow with age, perhaps an over simplification on the part experience has to play.
Zest carries with it zeal, excellence, satisfaction and last but not least temptation. With zest there is a certain kind of expectation and it varies from person to person. What does remain and actually seems to be the single common denominator in the search for the factors that govern our feelings, is love. A four letter powerful word that has a thousand meanings in every language but it carries one central theme and that is heart.
With heart absolutely every thing has life, nothing is too great, too far or too long. With heart the emotion in us, compels us to drive forward and make the most of what we have, only if we can appreciate and understand our strengths and weaknesses. The power of prayer is all encompassing, the power of thought is all demanding however, the power of action is you. Zest has a fragrance that if tapped will grow and grow and grow and….grow. It is infectious. Try a little and you will be able to change the direction of anything lacking that little bit of umph….in short zest is the very essence of life!
